Babylon was the capital city of Babylonia, a kingdom in ancient Mesopotamia.

Background

When speaking with Joshua Graham, he recites a passage from the Bible that mentions Babylon.[1] Gameplay-wise, there is an achievement called O Daughter of Babylon.

The gardener and mammologist exams at the Pioneer Scout camp have questions that also reference the kingdom. A question in the gardener exam asks, "Mary wants to grow a spectacular garden, with all the best plants she can find. She wants to model her garden off of a legendary Wonder of the World. Which garden should she use as her model?" The Hanging Gardens of Babylon is provided as the correct answer to the question.[2] Additionally, a question in the mammologist exam asks, "Snippers is a good house cat. He eats his food and uses his litter box, just like he's supposed to. Which ancient country can we thank for domesticating cats like Snippers?" Babylon is provided as an incorrect answer to the question.[3]
