Ham is a ghoul residing in Goodneighbor in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.
Background
Sometime prior to 2287, around the time John Hancock took over the town of Goodneighbor from the previous leader Vic, Ham became a resident and got a job as the bouncer of the local bar, the Third Rail. A stocky, no-nonsense ghoul, Ham takes the security of the Third Rail very seriously, meaning that anyone who causes trouble will have to deal with him. This included "Brother" Thomas who once tried to peddle flyers for his Pillars of the Community group but was thrown out by Ham after disturbing the customers for too long, though not before catching the eye of Emogene Cabot who left with him.
Although he is a consummate professional, Ham is also soft at heart and protective of bar singer Magnolia.[1][2]

- ↑ Script notes from Ham's dialogue: "short-tempered, tough-as-nails, a softy at heart"
- ↑ Magnolia: "Ham! Will you come over here a minute?"
Ham: "Is there a problem, Miss Magnolia?"
Magnolia: "Oh, no. This fine gentleman here was just looking for Emogene. Do you happen to know where that preacher fellow came from?"
Ham: "Brother Thomas?"
Magnolia: "Yes, that's right. The one Emogene was always hanging on."
Ham: "Had to throw him out. Wouldn't stop bothering the customers with that "salvation" racket... Kept going on and on about joining him at the Back Bay. Then he'd shove those stupid fliers in your face. Here, I kept one of them. Just in case he didn't pay his bar tab."
Magnolia: "Thanks, honey. You were a big help."
Ham: "Anything for you, miss..."
