You're all a bunch of psychopaths! And I love you for it.

RedEye is the unseen host of Raider Radio in Nuka-World in 2287.

Background

Little is known about RedEye's history before becoming affiliated with the Nuka-World raiders. Through his songs, he claims to have once been in a gang that respected him so much, they begged him not to leave before he departed to join up with Colter and the raider alliance sometime prior to their takeover of Nuka-Town USA in 2286. Allegedly, upon arrival, his bravado impressed the overboss enough that Colter immediately assigned him to set up and run a radio station for the raiders.[1] He also supposedly fell in love with a female raider he met at the Revere Beach station, and spent a long time with her terrorizing the Commonwealth until they later broke up after she robbed him of his possessions.[2]

His songs "The Legend of RedEye" and "The Legend of RedEye's Name" give conflicting accounts of how he obtained the nickname "RedEye." In the latter case, it was because he burst the blood vessels in his eyes after an alcoholic bender at the Combat Zone;[3] in the former case, it was because when he came to Nuka-World after hearing about Colter's plans for the takeover, the overboss noticed he had bloodshot eyes from a severe lack of sleep and gave him the name personally, thinking it made him look "really cool."[1]

In his role as the host and DJ for Raider Radio, RedEye delivers daily accounts of events going on around Nuka-World as well as playing original songs of his own. He also is known to accept notes given by his listeners and reads them on the air.[4]

Behind the scenes

The acoustic guitar music played on Raider Radio and performed by RedEye was written by audio director Mark Lampert, who also directed sessions for RedEye's voice actor, Andrew W.K. Lampert described this as a "favorite personal anecdote" from his work on Fallout 4.[Non-game 1]

Bugs

Playstation 4Playstation 4 Sometimes, even after killing the raider gangs and finishing Open Season, RedEye will still be broadcasting news of the Sole Survivor's achievements for the raider gangs if they complete the quests for the various parks.
